We. Are. Pregnant!
I could not be happier to write this post! First, because it's my first official post on this pregnancy! And also because it means I have officially hit the 12 week mark and am heading into trimester 2.
I wanted to document the 1st trimester before moving along to all of the many posts I have planned in the future (baby gear, nursery plans, maternity style, prepping for 3 etc...) because although these may not have been the most fun 12 weeks, they were beautiful and special just the same.
This trimester hit me like a ton of bricks. Call me spoiled but I had very (what I now see were VERY, VERY, VERY ) easy 1st trimesters with both of the boys. I remember the tiniest bit of nausea for a week or two. Nothing that a peppermint or two didn't cure.
This time around my body has basically been dealing with flu symptoms for weeks on end. The nausea started around week 7. I even remember telling my hubby that I was concerned because by week 6 I still wasn't feeling much of anything...
Weeks 7-11 made up for that!
Before the nausea kicked in I was suffering from dizzy spells. In fact, the reason I decided to take a test the morning that I did was because I woke up so incredibly dizzy. That had been going on for a few days before I even stopped to think that something may be going on.
Here I am now at 12 weeks and I am very happy to report that most of the symptoms have gotten better. I am still nauseous on and off most days, but it's bearable. The dizzy spells have stopped and I am sleeping better. Oh sleep...what a difference sleep makes.
We are gearing up for trimester 2 and I am SO happy it is here.
My belly has definitely popped (Hello 3rd baby) so I no longer look like I just ate too much the day before, although I'm sure I did in fact eat too much. Baby is the growing and thriving. Currently the size of a plum. And the best part of all is that we will be working with an amazing company in a day or so to find out the gender before 13 weeks.
Be on the lookout for that post!
I plan on sharing my very open and honest feelings about this babies gender and all that comes along with finding out for the final time.
I will also be starting my weekly series on IG documenting the belly growth. You can use #pumpkinseedandgray on IG to follow along.
Thanks for reading and following along on this next adventure!
The support has been nothing short of incredible.
See you in the next post.
xoxo
