To me, NYE makeup means bring the drama.
Normally for me, that translates to a very glittery filled look, however this year I will be wearing enough glitter on my dress so I wanted to do a look that was incredibly glamorous, yet wouldn't compete with the outfit.
Here's the breakdown of how I achieved this look.
- Mattify your lid. I used concealer on my lids and then set the concealer with a nude powder. I did not add any additional color to the lid. Not a technique I do very often but it really makes dramatic liner pop.
- Wing your liner like never before. Think drama here! Take your wing out further than your normal day to day wing. This is New Years Eve and it's perfectly acceptable! I went with my trusty Maybelline Lasting Drama, found in drugstrores. I swear by this stuff. The day I used this was the day I stopped using my MAC liner. It is the blackest of black and lasts alllllll day.
- Next go in with your favorite lashes. I would highly recommend falsies for a NYE look but if they aren't your thing, try using two different types of mascara layered on top of each other to achieve dramatic lashes!
- I knew I wanted to keep my skin pretty toned down so that my liner and lips stole the show, so I used less highlight and blush than I normally would.
- For the lips I instantly decided on ColourPops Notion. My newest obsession and hands down favorite shade from ColourPop. Which says a lot, because I am obsessed with MANY. This lip brought the drama that I was craving for this face.
The perfect combination for a New Years Eve bash! I cannot wait to create this fun look again.
xoxo beauties,
Mrs. H
