Well, can we say hiatus?
I am so excited to be back in my comfy space on the internet! It's funny, I am only a few words in and it already feels like home.
I have been taking a break from blogging to focus on some other areas of my social media but I am so, so happy to be back.
I promised myself that in 2018-I would spend more time in this area. I am also however, realistic. So for now I will be aiming for one blog post per week. We will see if I can up that eventually...
baby steps people, baby steps.
I wanted to start of with a post that I had been meaning to get up for so long now.
HOME RENO!
Our home has come so far from the day we moved in. Of course, like we all know, the project list is absolutely never ending (ahem-especially when you start out with red cabinets and the worlds most hideous floors). Looking back at these before shots is so encouraging.
Today I will be sharing some before and after's of the kitchen/dining room.
This was the one area that I KNEW I had to tackle first. We still don't have our backsplash up. We still have some appliances to replace. And I still have shelves to put up.
BUT-those before shots.
So proud to have made this space our own. Our style. Light, bright and airy.
One of my favorite things about our kitchen is our open cabinets. I knew when we moved in that I wanted to expose two of them. Once we removed the doors I wanted more. Something needed to pop. So the hunt for my perfect contact paper began. I knew I wanted floral and I knew I wanted black and white. It had to go with everything, have the feminine touch I wanted and really add the personalization to the kitchen that I was looking for.
And I am STILL completely obsessed. The perfect nook for my coffee mug collection and our drinking glasses. I scored this paper from Walmart for a total steal!
*I have since used the same paper in the back of each cabinet. Such a fun pop when someone goes to grab a fork or plate!
We then re did the floors, painted the counter tops, painted the oven and dishwasher (that's right-painted!), and we replaced the faucet with a more dramatic one that we LOVE.
One day those painted items will be replaced. But for now, it has been a lifesaver.
If you would like a more in-depth blog about any of the items we used, let me know!

After that I turned my attention to the dining room space. We had had this table for several years. It was still in great shape and a very sturdy table but there was nothing about it that was *me*. So I decided to paint the chairs black to match the contact paper and accent pieces in my kitchen and I whitewashed the table. I am so happy with how it came out. It now creates a bright and happy energy in that space that I just adore.
